To help local authorities make road transport smarter by opening their data to improve safety, efficiency and emissions, the Department for Transport has launched a competition to provide ‘Funding for innovation with a focus on local authority high value parking and traffic datasets'.

Our recent replacement machine programme and linear parking rollout have opened up access to a number of high quality data sets. We have therefore submitted a bid that, if successful, will assist in the provision of more open and transparent reporting, and will better inform customers.
